Whiffletree Farm

We buy our eggs from Whiffletree Farm.

Jesse Straight, farmer and founder of the farm, was born and raised in Fauquier County. Jesse was inspired to learn more about farming after reading a book by Wendell Berry. In 2012 Jesse and his family moved to Whiffletree Farm.

The farm's chickens are raised in open pastures with no hormones, antibiotics or GMO's.

Grapewood Farm

Grapewood Farm is located in the historic Northern Neck, outside the town of Montross, along the waters of the Potomac river.

Operated by the Sachs family Grapewood Farm is committed to the good stewardship of the land and its soils. They specialize in producing superior organic small grains and stone ground flour.

Ground Up Grain

Andrea and Christian harvested their first 10 acres of malt barley in July 2010. Valley Malt, now 10 years old makes malt for breweries all around the Northeast.

Almost 10 years later, in 2018, the couple bought a flour mill. Their goal with Ground Up is to look back in another ten years and see more acres of grain, more thriving farms, more fresh and nutritious flour - all important signs of a more sustainable and resilient food system.
